This week at the Women in Resources National Awards, we were proud to celebrate the achievements of our two finalists, from our NSW Northparkes Operations.
The FlexCrew Program, and our Northparkes Operations, was also acknowledged by Minerals Council of Australia CEO and event MC, Tania Constable, who spoke about what the team had shared with her earlier in the day. They had reflected on how the flexibility had enabled them to have a real balance between work and family commitments, enabling them to be truly present at work and at home, making it a positive and enriching experience.
Being a national finalist is a significant achievement and reflects the dedication, innovation and leadership our people bring to Australia’s resources sector. We are incredibly proud of how they represented Evolution on the national stage and we also offer our congratulations to all winners and finalists.
The event was a great opportunity for the industry to come together to celebrate the achievements of women and inclusion and diversity champions. Kicking off with a leadership conversation between Alcoa Australia President, Elsabe Muller, Perenti Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Dr Vanessa Torrens, and The Bloomfield Group Chief Corporate Services Officer Renata Roberts.
The keynote address from Minister Resources; Minister for Northern Australia, The Hon Madeline King MP, provided some great insights and reflections into the sector delving into the history of gold mining, including the gold rushes in WA and Victoria, and those who pioneered mining. She also spoke about the progression of women in the sector and those who have and continue to pave the way for women in leadership across the industry.
