Cowal finalises Biodiversity Stewardship Agreement with the NSW Government

In June 2024, our Cowal Gold Operations finalised Biodiversity Stewardship Agreements with the NSW Government at Hillgrove and Myalla stewardship sites. The legal agreement between the owner of the land and the Minister responsible for the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 (NSW) establishes the biodiversity stewardship site and creates biodiversity credits.

These agreements allow for our Cowal Gold Operations to generate biodiversity credits for multiple uses, including to offset mine disturbance. It safeguards the protection of the land into perpetuity, regardless of changes in ownership of the mine.
