Evolution Mining is pleased to welcome its latest cohort of graduates and summer vacation students to our Red Lake Operations in Ontario, Canada.
The six incoming graduates represent a diverse range of disciplines, including geology, rock mechanics, mining engineering, mechanical engineering and finance. Over the next two years, they will build valuable technical capabilities and gain hands-on experience while contributing to meaningful projects across the operation.
Seven vacation students have also joined the site through to August, where they will gain practical exposure across their chosen field: environmental, mining engineering, geology, rock mechanics and laboratory. The program is designed to provide a well-rounded understanding of how each discipline contributes to a safe and efficient operation.
The cohort was recently welcomed at a site lunch, where they met the Site Leadership Team and heard from the Vice President John Penhall, who shared insights into the business and encouraged them to make the most of the opportunities ahead.
“The mining industry is actively looking to adopt new thinking in the way we work. And as a growing business, you’ll be able to bring your ideas to the table, jump into projects that interest you and contribute to Red Lake’s future,” he said.
“It’s a ticket to doing amazing things.”
Operations General Manager Kyal Hunter also spoke to how both programs will be foundational to shaping their careers, drawing upon his own experience from mining engineering to operations.
“Our Vacation Program helps select your ideal direction after graduation, and our Graduate Program offers you opportunity to broaden and deepen your skills in a supportive environment. Enjoy this opportunity to uncover your chosen path,” he said.
Evolution Mining is committed to supporting early career talent, and we look forward to helping these students and graduates develop their skills and create what we hope will be a standout career highlight.
