We work in an integrated way across our geographically separated and unique environmental and community contexts. This includes environmental stewardship and climate risk management.

Internally we have several networks and communities of practice that drive innovation and collaboration. Our Environment Network meets monthly with a focus on sharing information and working together to promote environmental governance. Our Net Zero Emissions Community of Practice meets quarterly, with key stakeholders and subject matter experts across the business building organisational knowledge and skills, sharing learnings, monitoring legislative changes, and identifying opportunities regarding emissions reduction. With the aim to operationalise our Net Zero Commitment, sharing information between our operations supports innovation and fosters a culture of continuous improvement. Some of the achievements in FY25 include a review and improvement of our emissions reporting, fleet trials, operational efficiencies regarding ventilation and water consumption, and engagement with external partners.

Externally, we’re proud to be part of the Caterpillar Pathways to Sustainability Program. It was created to enable customers and dealers to prepare for the energy transition and its impact on people, processes, products, technology and infrastructure. Team members joined the launch of the Program in Tucson, Arizona, USA, which showcased the opportunities and factories at Caterpillar, included industry roundtables, and encouraged discussions on solutions to decarbonisation. Paul Robbins, Lead Asset Effectiveness, reflected, “Caterpillar emphasised that industry collaboration can be a critical aspect to achieve significant progress. The Pathways to Sustainability Program enables organisations to obtain insights and identify opportunities for developing customised strategies aimed at achieving site-specific emissions reduction objectives.”

We look forward to working with Caterpillar over the next few years to understand innovative ways to drive decarbonisation across our operations and meet our net zero targets.
