We are proud of the meaningful relationships we have built and continue to foster with our First Nations partners and the work done to advance outcomes with them. We know there is always more to learn and do to further reconciliation across Australia and Canada.

Our Evolution Mining Reconciliation Plan launched in late 2025, with the inaugural Reconciliation Steering Committee meeting. The committee includes representatives from across senior leadership, Procurement & Supply, People & Culture, Sustainability, Communications & Corporate Affairs and operations. The priorities included aligning on roles and responsibilities and setting deliverables and actions focused on relationships, respect, opportunities and governance. The committee provides strategic focus for the cross-functional working group that is responsible for implementing the plan. Since implementation, the committee and working group have met regularly to progress action.

Throughout the year, key actions have included:

  • refining the deliverables and actions;
  • assessing innovative ways to monitor, track, report and communicate on plan outcomes; and
  • conducting internal consultation regarding business-wide cultural awareness and competency activities, with the aim to build awareness of First Nations cultures, histories, rights and achievements. This was supported by the identification and integration of actions from the FY25 and FY26 Assurance Program against our Cultural Heritage, First Nation partners and Indigenous Peoples Standards. The audit identified training and awareness as an area for improvement. We aim to increase the cultural competency, capability, and professional and personal development of our leaders and First Nations relationship managers.

In line with this, we also commenced a project to support sustainable and Indigenous procurement. We have engaged with SMEC (previously the Snowy Mountains Engineering Corporation), an expert panel member for our existing partner, Sustainability Advantage, a program of the NSW Government’s Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water. The project involves gap analysis, stakeholder workshops, and case study analysis to identify opportunities for improvement to inform our Indigenous Procurement Approach and Guideline, which will guide local procurement plans and aim to remove barriers to participation. It will inform our collaboration approach with Indigenous joint venture partners to enable their growth, capacity building and additional employment and procurement opportunities across our operations. We also remain committed to increasing Indigenous participation year-on-year through apprentice, trainee, graduate and employment programs, as well as these business development opportunities.

The implementation of the plan will be supported by our new Advisor Indigenous Relations and Community Partnerships and we look forward to sharing updates. We aim to regularly review the plan to ensure it is aligned with Reconciliation Australia and emerging leading frameworks, including through our existing pilot and investor engagement regarding the Dhawura Ngilan Business and Investor Initiative.
