Shared value projects provide long-term outcomes for local childcare

Within the remote regions and towns where we operate, our communities often face unique issues, including childcare availability. In FY25, our Northparkes Operations launched their first Shared Value Project under Evolution ownership, partnering with Eugowra Community Children’s Centre. The Centre, much like the town, was devastated by floods in 2022.

Since then, the Centre has been providing ongoing childcare services for families, however more development was required after the floods. Our contribution of more than $400,000 will fund the long day care room in the new purpose-built centre, enabling increased space and capacity, and providing a pivotal resource to local families.

The Eugowra Community Children’s Centre Management Committee reflected, “We are absolutely certain the impacts of this donation will be long-lasting as we can now ensure that future generations of local families will have access to this critical service for many years to come.” We look forward to the opening of the new centre in 2026.

In December 2024, our Ernest Henry Operations celebrated the opening of the new playground at Cloncurry Kindergarten. Along with MMG Dugald River, our contribution helped to rebuild facilities to align with required health, safety and structural standards for kindergarten accreditation. Without these, there would be a significant gap in educational activities offered.

General Manager Ernest Henry Operations, Jason Floyd attended the event alongside MMG Dugald River General Manager Tim Akroyd.

“These services are crucial for keeping families in the community and align with the efforts of local council and businesses to promote Cloncurry as a vibrant small town with much to offer,” Jason said.

Our community investments demonstrate our strategic approach to enabling long-term, community-driven impact aligned with regional and local efforts, while also supporting talent attraction, retention and employee engagement by providing our people that live in these communities with access to valuable services.
