Across the business, we are investigating how to leverage technology and innovation, including AI, to create long-term improvements and efficiencies with safer and more sustainable outcomes. Our Exploration teams are engaging in partnerships to use AI for exploration targeting and block model validation, drone scanning and imagery, as well as drill hole planning – enhancing precision and efficiencies.
In collaboration with Mira Geoscience, we have supported exploration of the Red Lake area by employing a novel, data-driven approach, balanced by input from Evolution and MIRA subject matter experts to generate new target ideas near our existing mine development. We have completed data ingestion and started enhancing a unified 3D geological model, a critical input of the final targeting outputs. Ultimately, a Common Earth Model (CEM) will be produced that will use the relationships between geological, geochemical and geophysical data with known mineralisation to map out the probability of finding new gold mineralisation in 3D. The CEM and input geological model will be foundations for testing new exploration targets into the future allowing our Discovery team to find new ore zones in a more time efficient way.
