In 2025, Evolution’s inaugural Tailings Forum saw 25 representatives from tailings management teams across our operations come together. Held at our Northparkes Operations and Cowal Gold Operations, it supported our commitment to safe and sustainable tailings management through collaboration.
The forum’s first day focused on knowledge sharing through a series of technical presentations, followed by delegates from across our operations sharing operational insights and discussing best practice and emerging challenges in tailings management. Northparkes kicked off day two with a presentation on their use of hydro-cyclones to deposit tailings into the Rosedale facility, followed by a site tour and a People & Culture-led training workshop on site collaboration. This equipped attendees with tools to strengthen cross-site communication and teamwork. The third day included a site tour and visit to Cowal for an in-depth session on their Integrated Waste Landform (IWL) development, tailings project management and initiatives put in place to address regulatory audit outcomes.
Northparkes’ Tailings and Water Superintendent, Phil Greenhill, reflected that “The connections formed across sites at the forum were equally as valuable as the technical insights shared. Over a casual dinner on Thursday, we had the opportunity to reflect on the week, build relationships and continue informal knowledge-sharing.”
