We are proud to partner with communities near our operations to improve the capacity of regional infrastructure and childcare to support working families and a diverse workforce. Throughout the year, we have worked with our partners at our Northparkes Operations and Ernest Henry Operations to improve childcare facilities.
In 2026, construction of the Eugowra Community Children’s Centre commenced. More than $400,000 was contributed by Northparkes in FY25 to fund a long day care room to increase the capacity and provide a critical resource for the community, following the devastating floods in 2022. Members of our Northparkes team also attended the reopening of St Joseph’s Primary School in Eugowra which was also impacted by the flood. Our team supported the school with a new Yarning Circle, encouraging collaboration, cultural awareness, inclusivity and connection.
Our Ernest Henry Operations continued its partnership with the Cloncurry Shire Council for the Curry Kids Early Learning Centre Upgrade Project – a transformative project that will increase access and capacity for early childhood education in the local community. Through the two-year partnership and our contribution of $500,000, the project will double capacity for up to 109 children across diverse age groups, supporting working families in Cloncurry. The Centre is currently under construction with internal works underway. The opening is still to be scheduled. Read more about our partnership here.
Our team at Ernest Henry is passionate about supporting kids in need, reflected by their annual tug-of-war events, which raise funds for Starlight Children’s Foundation. In FY26, Ernest Henry’s D Crew hosted a memorable and fierce competition at the sixth annual event, raising a total of $80,000 for Starlight. Read more about the successful event here.
