Each of our operations celebrated International Women’s Day, contributing to a global recognition of the theme ‘Give to Gain’.
Our Cowal Gold Operations partnered with the community to host an afternoon with former world number four tennis player, Jelena Dokic. Her powerful story of resilience resonated strongly with attendees, creating space for honest conversations about courage, recovery and the strength of community. The event raised $10,440 from the generosity of the community and dollar-matching by Evolution which went to St Vincent de Paul West Wyalong to support women experiencing hardship, including those affected by domestic and family violence, with emergency assistance, essential items and support pathways.
Our people were recognised by the NSW Minerals Council, with three finalists in the 2026 Women in Mining Awards, which we are also proud to sponsor. Read more here. The awards recognise and celebrate the contributions and achievements of women and gender diversity champions across New South Wales’s resources sector which has historically been male-dominated. Evolution was proud to celebrate:
- the FlexCrew Program at Northparkes, winner of the Excellence in Diversity Programs and Performance Award;
- Taleigha Everingham-Potts, MEM Auto Electrician at Northparkes, winner of the Exceptional Tradeswoman/Operator/Technician; and
- Stephanie Penales-Coren, Senior ESG and Social Responsibility Advisor at Group, runner-up of the Exceptional Young Woman of the Year.
The evening showcased a broad range of passions and areas of expertise across the mining industry and demonstrated the impact that belief, resilience and mutual celebration can have on lifting all women within the industry.
